When it comes to your wedding, you want everything to be perfect, down to the last tiny detail.  Your catering is something that has to be perfect, because you want your guests to have an experience at your reception that they'll remember for a long time.  If you are planning a meats and cheeses for your guests, you can still give your reception some pizazz with some fun and interesting food bars.  Here are some great wedding catering ideas that will make your reception be the talk of the town.

Baked Potato Bar

Baked potato bars are so old school, but you can jazz up your potatoes with some delicious and cool toppings.  Try giving your guests toppings such as spinach and prosciutto, feta with olives and sun dried tomatoes, black bean chili with beef or pork shoulder, ricotta and cherry tomatoes or caramelized onions and mushrooms.  You could also make it simple and offer an array of grilled veggies and sausage for your potato toppings.  If you are having a more casual reception, try putting pizza toppings on the bar.  Who wouldn't love a cheddar and pepperoni baked potato?

Taco Bar

As with the potato bar, you don't have to have a boring taco bar either.  Try mixing things up with your meats.  You could offer guests ground beef, ground turkey, chili, steak, grilled chicken, fried chicken, pork, fish, tofu or quinoa for the "meat" of their tacos.  Even if you stick with the ordinary lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, avocado, onion, beans, rice and cheese, you are still giving them a flavorful taco experience.

Cupcake Bar

You can still have a wedding cake if you offer a cupcake bar.  Allow guests to take home a couple of cupcakes as part of their wedding favor.  Have your caterer set out classic un-iced and un-decorated chocolate and vanilla cupcakes, but allow guests to dress them however they'd like.  Include different flavors and colors of icing, fillings, and sprinkles.  Include to-go boxes on the table to encourage them to take them when they go, for a sweet treat later in the day.

Breakfast Bar

If you are planning on a mid-morning wedding, you can allow your guests to take in a wonderful brunch at your reception.  Include waffle and omelet stations, but offer a breakfast bar as well.  Eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and fruit can be a wonderful addition to any early reception.  For a sweet treat, offer some of the most popular sugary cereals to allow guests to feel young at heart.

Your wedding reception food doesn't have to be boring.  Bring on the fun catering bars and allow guests to experience fun and flavor on your special day. Talk to some local restaurants, like Giuseppe's, for more information.
