If you have found yourself in the position of throwing together a party at the last minute for one reason or another, then you may feel extremely overwhelmed. It can be difficult to put together a party when you do it months in advance, but when you find yourself doing it with moments to spare it can be extremely difficult. This article will guide you through the process of putting together a party at the very last minute.

Call everyone you want to invite right away

The most important thing to do will be to get as many friends and family members to the party as possible. This means giving them a call the moment you know that the party will be taking place. Make sure you apologize to them for the extremely short notice and let them know the reason for it. You don't want them to think that it's only them getting a last minute invitation and feel offended. Start with family, then call friends and then if you still need more people in attendance you can move on to friendly acquaintances.

Go pick up a cake

You want to go to a grocery store that has a bakery and pick up the appropriately sized cake. The bakery staff will be able to write a special message on the cake right on the spot for you. If you do have enough notice, then you can special order the cake, but there are already some ready to go ones on hand for a very fast party throwing situation. The bakery will have candles and other last minute decorations on hand that you can grab up to add some extra decoration to the cake.

Pick up all your eating utensils, snacks and drinks

While you are at the store picking up the cake, you also want to fill the cart with paper plates, tablecloths, napkins, plastic silverware, chips, dips, sodas, and plastic cups. You also want to pick up any other snacks or other items that you want to have for the party. This is your one stop to get together the basics you will need to have readily available. You want to try to avoid any more stops since the party is being thrown on such short notice.

Order fast Chinese food and pizza

You want to order a food that's going to please as many guests as possible. You also want to go with a food that can be ordered in large amounts in a very short amount of time. Chinese food will prove to be a crowd pleaser with most adults, as well as many children. You can check out the options via services like Empress Express.

Pizza will also be a good choice for a party where a good number of children will be at as well. Generally, both of these foods can be delivered. If you are going to be ordering a very large amount then you want to try to give the food places as much advance notice as possible, but good news is both are great at filling large orders quickly.
